Camille (aka Monkey, Monkeypants, Monkeyshines, Bunny, Buddy, Boo, Wild Thing, Buboo, Little Britches).
So, did I mention that I’m a big ‘ole nerd? Hence, the cat page.
This is Camille, the furry four-legged critter that lives with me. And I figured that, if the Algonquin Hotel (NYC) cat Matilda can have a page on the hotel website, then Camille deserves a page on my blog site. Unlike Matilda, though, Camille will not be getting her own e-mail address. Or birthday parties where the public is invited to attend. Matilda is also on the Twitter, where her handle is @Algonqueen. Camille will not be getting her own Twitter account.
I adopted Camille from the Annex Cat Rescue (Toronto) in the spring of 2009. She’d been living in a foster home for about 10 months (the ACR fosters all their kitties, as opposed to having a large central facility like the Humane Society), so in addition to giving her a name, the ACR was also able to give me an idea of her needs and temperament. Think match-making for humans and kitties. If you live in the Toronto area and you’re considering adopting a feline friend or two, check the ACR out – they’re good people.
She was two when I adopted her, so I kept the name Camille – since she seemed to be used to it. It also seems to suit her – when she’s good, she’s “Princess Camille” and when she’s not so good, she’s “Hurricane Camille.”
She’s adorable and a big cuddler – and can still have a feral moment or two. All good, though – she settled in quickly and we’re great pals. Camille enjoys eating, sleeping, looking out our front bay window, hiding, stalking me (often from the bathroom sink), playing ball and working the cuteness.
And I promise not to post too many obnoxious cat anecdotes.

Oh, go on – post some cute cat anecdotes. Readers like ‘em! (it can’t be just me)
Love Princess Camille’s innocent big-eyed “who, me?” gaze in this shot.
Yes, but not everyone appreciates pet anecdotes. We pet folks have to admit, we often treat – and speak of – them like they’re are children (esp. if we don’t have any actual children!).
Aw – so cute! I recently lost my little fuzzy face, but when I’m ready again – I’m going to be adopting also.
Hi Kim – Sorry to hear you lost your four-legged friend. When you’re ready, definitely check out Annex Cat Rescue.
